Our Club is beginning to get going, we are having plenty of runners and our Members are getting tremendous value for their money. We have some lovely horses such as Ivaquestion who was an eye catching 4th in a 2yo Maiden at Leopardstown last week. Another 2yo to keep an eye out for is Jazzelle, She is a lovely athletic Filly trained by Sheila Lavery and the penny is beginning to drop with her.
Danehill Quest ran a cracking race for us to be second at Tipperary a couple of weeks back, he was a little flat on his next start when not beaten far in 6th at Roscommon, he had 3 runs in quick succession and will now be freshened up for a couple of weeks. He is a consistent horse, who is always knocking on the door and without doubt will pop his head in front again.
Tommy Hillfilly is progressing nicely for a Trainer in form, Dermot Mcloughlin. She is no speed merchant, but is as honest as they come and Jumps well, these are the kind of horses that win races. She is likely to start off in a Maiden hurdle in the coming weeks.
Sheila Lavery’s stable is also in red hot form with 4 winners in the past week, she is without doubt a Trainer going places. At the Race’s over the last number of weeks, she took the time to talk to all of our members and treated them no differently to an owner with 10 horses in the yard, which was very much appreciated by them!
It was unbelievably sad what happened to Lady Kaya. She was such a talented Filly and a joy to watch with her high cruising speed. Neither the Filly or her Connections deserved what happened, life can be cruel sometimes and all one can do is keep going. However the future is bright for the Lavery Stable, they are a small Team who are obviously doing things right, as they are punching above their weight in a fiercely competitive Sport and have developed a knack of unearthing talented 2yo’s. While it would be naive to suggest that one like Lady Kaya will come along anytime soon, you never know. Once thing is for sure they will be competing at a high level for many years to come.
We are always on the lookout for new Members and hopefully the Horse’s that we have will do the talking for us on the track.
